ROENTGENOGRAPHIC STUDY OF RIGHT ANGIOCARDIOGRAPHY IN CONGENITAL HEART DISEASES

Abstract
During the period of 10 years from the beginning of 1959 to the end of 1968, 144 cases of right angiocardiographies were performed at National Medical Center. The roentgenographic findings of 115 cases of congenital heart disease were analyzed.
Following were the results:
1. Over all sex ratio of the material was 60 per cent males to 40 per cent females.
2. 106 out of 115 cases were diagnosed as cyanotic congenital heart disease.
3. The most frequent disease entity was the Tetralogy of Fallot, consisting 80 cases, followed by pulmonary stenosis 13 cases, Ebstein¢¥s malformation 4 cases, Eisenmenger¢¥ a complex 4 cases, Corrected transposition of the great vessels 2 cases, Tricuspid atresia 2 cases and Truncus arteriosus 1 case respectively.
4. The average age incidence of tetralogy of Fallot was 7. 9 years old.
5. Infundibular stenosis was seen in 60 cases with 9 cases of combined stenosis, and 10 cases had valvular stenosis.
6. Atrial septal defects are accompanied in 4 patients.
7. Right sided aorta was seen in 20 per , cent of patients.
8. Shunt operations including Blalock¢¥s, Cooley¢¥s, Pott¢¥s or Glenn¢¥s operation were performed in 60 cases of Tetralogy of Fallot and the results were fairly good.
9. Pulmonary stenosis, the late cyanotic heart disease was mostly found in second decade with same incidence of valvular and infundibular stenosis.
